Neil Brandvold
Neil Brandvold is a freelance photojournalist and filmmaker primarily working in conflict, disaster, and post-disaster zones across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East, and is currently based in El Salvador. Most notably, Brandvold was embedded with the notorious M23 rebels during the Congolese civil war, covered frontlines of the Arab Spring in Libya and Egypt, and reported on the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Brandvold frequently works with Médecin Sans Frontières, and Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative reporting on neglected diseases across Africa.
His work has been featured in numerous outlets, including the Washington Post, National Geographic, The Economist, The Guardian, Newsweek, the New Yorker, Wired, Al Jazeera Witness, USA Today, Nature Magazine, PBS Frontline, among others.
Brandvold is a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee.
