Sharif Abdel Kouddous
Sharif Abdel Kouddous is an independent journalist based in Cairo. He is a correspondent for the TV/radio news hour Democracy Now! hosted by Amy Goodman and a fellow at the Nation Institute. Since 2011, Sharif has reported from Egypt, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Gaza, Bahrain, and Algeria. His work has been published in <em>The Nation</em>, <em>Washington Post</em>, <em>Los Angeles Times</em>, <em>Foreign Policy</em>, <em>Toronto Star</em>, <em>The Progressive</em>, <em>Mada Masr</em>, and other outlets. In 2012 Sharif was awarded the fourth annual Izzy Award for outstanding achievement in independent media for his coverage of the Egyptian revolution.
